As you work to improve care for patients while managing increased demand, we want to support you as physicians, working across specialties, to develop and deliver best practice collaboratively that will help. Physician leaders and ‘Getting it Right First Time, GIRFT, clinical leads have therefore designed a series interconnecting webinars, acute medical pathways – responding to increased demand. They aim to stimulate and guide local teams, while connecting with national guidance and linking you to practical examples and experience of best practice to help respond to increase in demand.
In same day emergency care across medical specialties, we explore principles and best practice of acute ambulatory care. We will explore examples in and out of hospital, so that patients who don’t need to be admitted to a hospital bed can be manged by the appropriate teams to addressing their acute care need. There will be examples from acute medicine, from the specialities and a panel discussion to explore how these have been delivered and how barriers to change have been identified and managed.
